At 1,753 meters (5,752 feet) above sea level, with stunning views of Panama and Costa Rica, the 51-hectare plantation produces several high-altitude specialty coffee varieties, including Geisha, Pacamara, and Caturra. Furthermore, our coffee trees are surrounded by natural tropical forest, Persian limes, and other citrus fruits. Due to its exceptional flavor and the quality of its beans, Kalithea is one of Panama's most important and promising coffee plantations. In 2015, our Caturra won first prize in the "Best of Panama" (BOP) Traditional Washed Coffee competition. Over the years, we have continued to participate and qualify for the BOP, as was the case this year with our special Geisha Washed lot, which we hand-select from the finest ripe cherries and then undergo a series of quality controls before reaching the African sun-drying beds. This batch promises a series of spectacular floral notes and aromas.
